Two excerpts here from my first musical collaboration with Brian Vinero. "You Are Loved" is the big ballad from Act One. "If Only" is from the finale of Act Two.
Here are just a couple little scene setters. Think comedy-mystery ala Mancini, or the 1960s.
The Magnificent Ambersons
Based on Booth Tarkington's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, the story follows a wealthy family in a small Midwestern town whose fortunes turn as the new century pushes on without them.
"Marking Time" comes from Act 1 where George first meets the stunning and coy Lucy.
Later, Lucy sings "Little Children" as she reflects on this tumultuous relationship.
"Beyond Horizons" is the Act 1 finale as George and his mother get ready to sail to Europe.
"Somewhere in the City" comes near the end of Act 2, as George returns to find his home town changed forever.
